Our name
day presentation evokes events that happened 150 years ago. We can get to know
and revive the important moments of day of coronation on 8th June
1867 based on the letters of Elisabeth and the memoirs of witnesses. We can
also get a picture of the politician Queen Elisabeth’s one and a half year long
mediator activity between the emperor and the nation, which significantly contributed
to the Austro-Hungarian Compromise which took place in February 1867 and the
coronation which could happen in June.
She was born 180 years ago, arrived in Hungary 160 years ago and was crowned to
be a Hungarian Queen 150 years ago.
