Pál Rózsa-Virág Erdős: Pimpare and the Little Black Heron
‘It may sound strange,
I confess:
my friend is the princess.
When we have some lazy
hours,
we often have a discourse,
I ask her,
and she answers:
because this tale
is hers…..’ /Virág Erdős: Pimpare and the Little Black Heron /
This performance is based on the fairy tale poem Pimpare and the Little Black
Heron by Virág Erdős – Attila József-awarded Hungarian poet, writer, dramatist and
the composer is Pál Rózsa. The Flautone Quartet asked the composer to prepare
from the original piece that was composed for a flute, a string quartet and a
piano to a variation on 4 flutes and a cello. The literary version is longer
and an opera was made from the drama version.
The musical acceptance is greatly supported by the narrated animation film
which was produced by Zoltán Janik. A further purpose of the orchestra to
present this production is to familiarise the audience with the members of the
flute instrument family, to popularise the contemporary music for the children
by experiencing this performance; as well as connecting live music with other
artistic genres like theatre, film art or literature.
