‘One of
them forgot to pay his brain bill, the other is boring, the third is wobbly,
the seventh is a braggart, the tenth is a sheep, the twentieth is dumber than a
box of hair, the fiftieth doesn’t have all his dogs on one leash, the eightieth
is a few feathers short of a whole duck, the ninetieth doesn’t have all his
cornflakes in one box: isn’t there at least one sensible man on the whole
Earth?’ – asks Rézi, the princess who can see everything after not even her
ninety-ninth suitor was unable to hide from her properly. Finally, Rézi’s
father, Henry Shilly-Shally XIII desperately makes a decision to marry her
furiously tempered daughter to the very first man who opens the door of the
throne hall. He will definitely marry her to this man whoever he will be.
Luckily to all of us (but mostly for Princess Rézi) the next man is not
anybody.
The performance by the Vaskakas was staged by Angéla Kolozsi (Géza Blattner-awarded),
who worked for the first time in our puppet theatre as a director, but earlier
she worked with us as an actor (Once upon a time there was a Cupboard called
Mary) and as a writer (Little Red). The sets, costumes and puppets were
designed by Katalin Sipos and Péter Sisak, the movements were choreographed by
Ágnes Benkő, and the performance is directed by Viki Rab.
