The press photo has been an independent
genre in photography for almost one hundred years. The genre of weekdays is so
independent that when they are put on the walls of museums or exhibition halls
it does not need the attributes of other genres. The Hungarian Press Photo
Exhibition has been the celebration of photographers and photography for three
and a half decades. These exhibitions show us as a mirror what happened to us
and around us in the past year. The reality of ordinary days is reflected in
the pictures. This year’s exhibition is not about sensations but about human
fates and humanity. Last year the photographers found topics, phenomena behind
which we can see the real beauty, humanity and heroics in human
relationships.
