The main aim of Forfun Association has been the support of visual artist in Székely Land since its foundation. They organise events, set strategic directions and find cultural channels to support fine artists to be acknowledged, sell their works of art and this way help to keep the endurance and continuity of fine arts in Székely Land.
The TAG (Transylvanian Art Group) is a fine arts group founded in 2011. The majority of the group is the first generation of the Secondary School of Fine Arts founded in Csíkszereda in 1990 but younger generations also joined. The group was founded not for a unitary artistic style or conception but because during the years strong human and artistic relationships evoked and they wished to create continuously and present their creations. Most members of the group have taken part together at art exhibitions and fine art camps and the result is that they would like to present together as often as possible. Almost every member of the group has a different style and conception but the mutual problems and impressions of our era make them become one body and there is a hidden relationship even among the creations of different styles.
‘A new generation in the garden of our culture reminds me of a planted tree, since the plantation we have been waiting for the fruit it grows. The years pass, we change century, we leave behind the apprenticeship and the beginning of treading the path. Now You have become the plenteous branches of the tree of creations with a huge foliage.’ (Árpád Márton, painter, Csíkszereda)
‘The group is characterised by various creating attitudes, often very different conceptions, the diversity of expressions and compositions and a wide spectrum of themes and technical solutions. You can see expressive oil paintings, graphic masterpieces, gestural painting, nonfigurative pieces and sensitive painted textiles at their exhibitions. Everyone walks their own way.’ (Mária Angyal, art historian, Budapest)
The last 5 years of cooperation and coordinated work means the end of a planned period and a new chapter in the life and activity of TAG.
The first 5 years were the branding, writing our CV and creating a mutual co-operational rhythm and in the next years we would like to focus on selling our works of art which we aimed at when we founded the group. This is why we have not organised an exhibition the whole year and this exhibition on 26th December is a new start with new creations. These pieces of art will be exhibited in different European galleries and recommended to auction houses in 2017 and we are hoping to sell them, too. This is why we are exhibiting the new TAG creations in the House of Arts Gödöllő and Levendula Gallery in January.
